1.Battery / Electric Power
Many towable boom lifts use deep-cycle batteries with a DC electric motor and hydraulic pump.
Quiet, no emissions, ideal for indoor or residential work.
Often 24V or 48V battery systems.
Can be recharged from a standard electrical outlet.
2.AC Electric (Plug-in Power)
Some models can be plugged directly into a 110V/220V AC power source for continuous use.
Good for sites where power outlets are available.
3.Gasoline or Diesel Engines
Some towable boom lifts come with a small internal combustion engine that drives the hydraulic pump.
Useful for outdoor and remote job sites where electric power isn't available.
4.Hybrid Systems
Certain modern towable boom lifts offer dual power (battery + engine), allowing operators to switch between electric for quiet indoor use and gas/diesel for outdoor heavy-duty work.
Regardless of the source (battery, engine, or plug-in), the power runs a hydraulic pump, which in turn drives the hydraulic cylinders that extend, lift, and rotate the boom.
