Classification: According to the use of equipment(such as Electric scissor lifts, Industrial freight elevator, Vertical lifts), select the corresponding type of hydraulic oil, such as metallurgical hydraulic oil, steering gear hydraulic oil, fire-resistant hydraulic oil, low-temperature hydraulic oil, anti-wear hydraulic oil, hydraulic oil, synthetic hydraulic oil, etc.
Viscosity: Choose the appropriate hydraulic oil viscosity according to the equipment manual recommendations and specific working conditions. Too small viscosity will cause wear, leakage, reduce volumetric efficiency and increase temperature. Excessive viscosity will make it difficult to absorb oil, increase energy consumption during flow, heat the system, and increase oil temperature. The choice of hydraulic oil viscosity level must first be determined according to the type of pump. Different types of hydraulic pumps (vane pumps, plunger pumps, gear pumps) have different requirements for the viscosity of the hydraulic oil, and secondly, consider the working conditions of the pump: high temperature and pressure. The hydraulic system should choose a higher viscosity; lower temperature and pressure should choose a lower viscosity. Also consider that the working viscosity of the hydraulic oil at the lowest temperature of the system should not be greater than the maximum starting viscosity of the pump.
Cleanliness: With the development of equipment technology, the requirements for the cleanliness of hydraulic oil are getting higher and higher. At present, ISO 4406 of the International Organization for Standardization or the American National Aviation Standard NAS 1638 are widely used as the oil pollution degree. (Or "oil cleanliness") classification method, the lower the value, the higher the cleanliness.
