How to add hydraulic oil when the pallet stacker is short of it?

Dec 20, 2024

Adding hydraulic oil to a pallet stacker is a straightforward process, but it should be done carefully to ensure the system works properly. Here's a step-by-step guide:
Step 1: Park the Stacker Safely
- Ensure the pallet stacker is on a level surface.
- Lower the forks to the lowest position to relieve pressure from the hydraulic system.
- Turn off the stacker (if motorized) and disconnect the power or ensure it's locked out.
Step 2: Locate the Hydraulic Oil Tank
Use a hexagon screwdriver to remove the outer shell of the pallet stacker.
the Hydraulic Oil Tank is usually near the hydraulic pump or under the main body of the stacker.
Step 3: Clean the Area
- Wipe the reservoir cap and surrounding area with a clean cloth to prevent dirt or debris from entering the tank.
Step 4: Open the Reservoir
- Carefully unscrew or remove the cap of the hydraulic oil tank.
- Check the oil level (some reservoirs have a dipstick or a sight glass).
Step 5: Add Hydraulic Oil
- Place a clean funnel in the reservoir opening.
- Slowly pour the hydraulic oil into the tank.
Add the oil in small amounts to avoid overfilling.
Check the oil level frequently using the dipstick or sight glass.
Step 6: Secure the Cap
- Once the oil level is correct, secure the reservoir cap tightly.
Step 7: Test the Stacker
Operate the hydraulic system by raising and lowering the forks to ensure everything works smoothly.
Check for leaks around the reservoir and hydraulic lines.
Reattach the pallet stacker housing.
