Nitrile rubber is one of the most commonly used materials due to its excellent resistance to oil, fuel, and other hydraulic fluids. It also offers good abrasion resistance and elasticity, making it suitable for moderate pressure and temperature conditions. NBR is cost-effective and performs well in environments where hydraulic oil exposure is constant.
Polyurethane seals are known for their superior resistance to wear, tear, and abrasion. They are often used in high-pressure hydraulic applications because of their durability and toughness. PU seals can withstand a wide range of temperatures and provide excellent sealing capabilities in dynamic applications, where there is movement between the seal and the cylinder wall.
Viton is a fluorocarbon-based elastomer that provides exceptional resistance to heat, chemicals, and aggressive fluids. It is suitable for applications where the hydraulic system operates under extreme temperature variations or involves exposure to aggressive substances. Although more expensive than NBR or PU, Viton seals offer long-lasting performance in demanding environments.
PTFE seals are highly resistant to chemicals and extreme temperatures. They are often used in environments where the hydraulic system is exposed to harsh chemicals, or when the scissor lift operates in very high or low-temperature settings. PTFE has low friction properties, making it ideal for minimizing wear in dynamic applications.
