A double-cylinder vertical material lift uses two synchronized hydraulic cylinders to raise and lower the platform. To ensure operator and cargo safety, it is equipped with multiple anti-fall protection systems:
1. Mechanical Anti-Fall Safety Device
Purpose: Prevents the platform from dropping suddenly in the event of hydraulic failure (e.g., hose rupture or cylinder malfunction).
Structure: Typically includes a ratchet locking system, fall arrest blocks, or anti-fall wedges integrated into the guide rail system.
Working Principle:
When the platform descends faster than normal (indicating a failure), the anti-fall device is triggered by the sudden speed change. It locks the platform to the guide rail, halting the fall instantly.
2. Hydraulic Safety Valve (Burst Valve)
Function: Installed on the hydraulic circuit, it automatically closes if a hose bursts, stopping hydraulic fluid from flowing uncontrollably.
Effect: Prevents uncontrolled descent of the platform.
3. Synchronous Control System
Purpose: Ensures both cylinders extend and retract simultaneously.
Protection: If there is an imbalance or desynchronization, the system can pause operation to avoid platform tilting, which could lead to jamming or instability.
4. Limit Switches & Sensors
Positioned at upper and lower travel limits, they prevent over-travel and automatically cut off power when the platform reaches its maximum travel distance.
