When choosing a fully electric pallet stacker, the outrigger configuration (wide, regular or narrow) is crucial in determining its suitability for different work environments and load types. These configurations refer to the spacing between the stacker's bottom support legs, which affects the machine's interaction with pallets, racking systems and aisle widths.
Wide-leg stackers have extended outrigger spacing and are designed to straddle loads. This enables them to lift closed-bottom pallets or Euro pallets that cannot be accessed from below, and provide greater lateral stability when handling heavier loads.
Regular-leg stackers (also known as standard or straddle-leg models) strike a balance between width and maneuverability. With a 680mm outrigger width for pallets up to 1.2m*1m, they are ideal for open-bottom pallets and general warehouse operations where space is moderate.
Narrow-leg stackers, on the other hand, are designed for narrow aisles and compact spaces. With a 570mm outrigger width for pallets up to 1m*0.8m. Their slim profile enhances maneuverability but limits compatibility with open base trays and can be less stable when lifting heavier loads to heights.
