What Is The Safety Performance Of Wheelchair Lifts

Apr 22, 2022

Barrier-free lifts (including wheelchair lift platforms and chair lifts) are used to help people with reduced mobility, especially the disabled and the elderly, to solve the problem of passage obstacles in the living environment. It is not only suitable for application in the planning of new buildings, but also for existing As-built buildings can also be easily retrofitted without having to consider additional modifications to the building.

Wheelchair lifts are suitable for all types of public and private buildings, such as schools, museums, subway stations, railway stations, historical sites, tourist attractions, and villas. The installation work has the characteristics of short cycle, less personnel requirements, high flexibility of installation location, small impact on the surrounding environment, no damage to the decoration layer, etc. Even during the installation process, the building can still be used normally.

As a manned elevator, wheelchair lifts have sufficient measures to protect the safety of users:

1. The target call signal is reasonably distributed by the control system to ensure that the cars will not interfere with each other, and the minimum separation distance can always be maintained.

2. Monitor the minimum separation distance. When the door of wheelchair lift approach each other, the speed is slowed down and thus can be stopped at any time so that the minimum separation distance is not exceeded.

3. Emergency braking. When another safety interval value is exceeded, the traction machine is braked and the braking mechanism is activated.

4. In the unlikely event that none of the above three safety measures can decelerate the car, the safety gears of the two cars will be forced to be activated to stop the elevator.
